Passion for the Death Metal

“Passion for Death Metal, The Music of Terror” is a feature-length documentary aimed at the international market.

This music documentary seeks to understand the world of Death Metal, an extreme subgenre of heavy metal. One of its most unique and recognizable aspects is the use of guttural vocals, complex musical structures, and fast percussion (with a dominant use of the double pedal). It is a movement that originated in the United States in the 1980s and then spread throughout the world, with Scandinavia being one of the territories where it has the most followers.

Beyond its complexity, the most characteristic aspect is undoubtedly the passion it arouses in its fans. It is very difficult to understand how such a complex musical style remains so healthy and alive after more than three decades.

This project will seek to find those answers and allow viewers to discover a form of music that, despite having remained underground throughout its existence, is the only refuge for musicians who in other disciplines would be considered virtuosos.

It will also feature testimonials from concert promoters, doctors of extreme metal, sociologists, and other figures who will help shed light on the reasons behind this cultural movement.
